“Many women refuse to play the political game in their company and find jobs elsewhere”
“Women focus on cooperation, look after their team. Men focus upwards and look up to the person higher in the hierarchy”
“Important decisions are made in informal meetings, not in the formal ones”
These quotes are from an article in the Dutch managementmagazine Intermediair: “What stops women? Even young, ambitious and without children they get stuck”.
This article is based on an interview with the authors of ‘Stratego for women’ and tells us about the unwritten rules of the game played in organisations. Rules and the way the game is played are set by men. If women want to reach higher positions in companies, or if they want to be asked for the most interesting projects, they have to know what the different ways in behaviour are between women and men. Not to adapt this behaviour but to play the game in a strategic way.
This workshop is about the unwritten rules and how to play the game strategic without loosing your own identity. The participants learn the different orientations between men and women and the results of these gender issues in working together in organisations. The participants will have discussions about the unwritten rules they have to deal with in their company or in their clients company. We will also discuss female and male behaiviour by using the Greek archetypes. This helps us to find out what the best way is to influence others.
You will draw your field of influence. Who are the players, who has formal and informal power in your organization. Which position do you choose, what strategies and tactics do others choose. How can you deal with the different interests and play the game to reach your goal.
We organized this workshop before for Price Waterhouse Coopers, PGGM, SVB, Rabobank, ABN AMRO, Shell, Lidl, HDC Media, TNT, Ahold, Achmea, ING, ADP, Interpay, UWV and lots more.
To operate more effectively within our field of influence, we have to negotiate!
It’s one of the most critical factors for success. In this workshop the participants will get insight in the negotiation process. We will discuss the different steps in negotiating: how do you prepare, what strategy do you choose and how do you play the ‘negotiation game’.
We relate to the archetypes and based on the checklist we have developed, the participants will prepare to practice their own business negotiation case.
The workshop ‘Stratego for women’ is meant for women who want to learn the unwritten rules and how to adapt these rules, play the game strategically and how to reach their goals without losing themselves.
The workshop ‘Strategic negotiations’ is meant for women who want to experience the fun negotiating but also who want to get what they deserve!
