Monic Bührs and Elisa de Groot facilitated the kick-off for our Oracle Women Leadership event in 2011. They shared the unwritten rules from their bestseller “Stratego voor vrouwen”. And they did this in a very inspiring and interactive way. Tge female participants all draw their personal field of influence which gave them all enormous eyeopeners. A year later they facilitated the same workshop in Belgium. A few years ago the organized a workshop for women and men about the different levels op influence. Both men and women were very inspired, understood more about how differently both men and women tend to influence others and that it is not about right or wrong.

Elisa de Groot led a workshop on leadership style preferences for our Amex female employee network, which she based on findings from her well-known management book ‘Stratego voor vrouwen’ and the associated masterclass. I found Elisa to be highly impactful in making leaders of today and tomorrow (men and women) aware of their preferred leadership style as well as their perceptions preventing them from realizing their full potential. Elisa is analytical and strategic in mindset, as well as someone who can make a direct connection with people from all walks of life, and a great facilitator in group settings. I know Monic as one of the trainers and coaches of the ‘Women’s Career Program’. She is very goal-oriented and really believes that women need to take more influence in companies. She has a lot of knowledge about the unwritten rules, which are mainly masculine. She had tons of examples and uses a lot of humor. She can be direct and will always say what you want to hear. She will never say that men need to change. Her focus is to teach women the rules of the game and challenge them to to play the game in their own authentic way. Because of her direct and no-nonsense feedback I have learned to play the game without having to transform in to a ‘man wearing a dress’.
Zij is doelgericht en staat voor haar missie: vergroten van de doorgroeimogelijkheden van vrouwen in organisaties. Ze heeft een volle rugzak als het gaat om inzichten in de ongeschreven – vaak masculiene – regels die binnen organisaties gelden. Ze weet te boeien door de vele concrete voorbeelden die zij, met de nodige humor, brengt. Monic praat vrouwen niet naar de mond. Zij zal niet zeggen dat de mannen moeten veranderen. Haar insteek is dat je je als vrouw moet leren verhouden tot de regels in het spel. Door haar directe en nuchtere feedback leerde ik experimenteren hoe je dit als vrouw kan doen, zonder te veranderen in ‘man met jurk an’.
